Whether you’re hosting a big family gathering or a cozy get-together this weekend, your home can set the tone for a memorable celebration. At EB Studio we love helping our clients transform their spaces to reflect the warmth, joy, and renewal that Easter brings and we are usually the ones in charge of setting the table at family gatherings too!
Here are a few design tips we implement at our own family get-togethers to create a beautiful, functional, and welcoming space for your Easter gathering this weekend.

1. Incorporate soft pastel colours
Easter is a season of renewal, and pastel colours are the perfect way to bring a cheerful vibe to your space. Soft pinks, blues, and yellows evoke a sense of lightness and joy, setting the perfect mood for a holiday get-together.
- Add cushions in pastel hues to your living room or dining area, bringing warmth and coziness, and inviting your guests to relax and enjoy their time together.
- No Easter gathering is complete without flowers! Fresh blooms in shades of soft pink, lavender, and buttery yellow can be arranged in simple vases or as table centrepieces.
- Set your dining table with pastel-coloured napkins, placemats, and tablecloths. Light-coloured dinnerware, paired with floral centrepieces or delicate candles, will make for a stunning and inviting display. Don’t forget to add a few decorative Easter touches like bunny-shaped napkin rings or pastel-coloured eggs!

2. Keep the space open and easy to move through
A successful Easter gathering isn’t just about what your space looks like—it’s also about how it functions. Ensuring that your space is open and easy to navigate will allow your guests to mingle and move freely without feeling cramped or restricted.
- Arrange your furniture in a way that encourages conversation and interaction. Avoid placing too many pieces of furniture in the centre of the room. Instead, create open pathways where guests can easily walk through and enjoy all areas of your home.
- If you’re hosting a big meal, make sure the dining area is spacious enough for guests to move around while still allowing for everyone to gather around the table. Consider a long table setup for large groups, or smaller, round tables for more intimate gatherings.
3. Set the mood with soft lighting
Lighting is essential for creating the right ambience. Use soft, warm lighting to add a relaxed, welcoming glow to your space. Opt for candles in pastel-coloured holders or lanterns to give your Easter gathering an extra touch of elegance.
- Place candles on your dining table or in the centre of your living area to provide a soft, flickering light. Scented candles with subtle floral or citrus fragrances can enhance the mood and make the environment even more inviting.
- If you’re celebrating outdoors, string lights can transform your backyard into a magical space. They add warmth and charm, making your outdoor area perfect for a relaxed family gathering.
