A Mosman Classic, Lovingly Restored
Art deco spaces have a character that’s hard to manufacture and easy to ruin if not done carefully!
This charming Mosman unit had been rented out for the best part of three decades and it showed!! Our clients were based interstate and were ready to move back in but realised it needed work before they could call it home. EB Studio managed every detail of the project from start to finish so they could arrive home to something finished, considered and entirely ready to live in. We ripped out the old kitchen, added new joinery to give the bedroom robe storage, and updated the bathroom with some budget friendly tricks!
The result feels like it could always have been there. Shaker cabinetry in a soft warm white, marble benchtops, and a butler’s sink with a brass mixer – classic references, executed with care. Vertical white gloss tiles run floor to ceiling behind the cooker, their slim format and brass-toned grout nodding to the period. And then there’s the floor: a blue and white checkerboard tiles that anchors the whole room with a quiet confidence, playful and grounded in equal measure.
Brass hardware threads through every detail, from the elegant cabinet pulls to the swan-neck tap, catching the light that pours in through the garden-facing window.
It’s the kind of kitchen that makes you want to put the kettle on and stay for tea!
