Built for the View
Some projects arrive with everything already working in their favour. This was one of them.
Perched above the sandstone cliffs of Vaucluse, this trophy home commands what can only be described as one of the most extraordinary views of Sydney our team had ever seen. Sweeping vistas of the harbour that move through the living, dining, and kitchen, and follow you all the way to the primary suite on the upper level. The primary bath, positioned to face the water directly, may well be the finest place to soak in the city.
With a canvas this remarkable, our approach was deliberate restraint. Rather than compete with the view, every finish was chosen to recede softly into it. A palette of warm, muted neutrals draws from the sandstone cliffs that frame the property, grounding the home in its landscape and letting the harbour do the talking.
Taj Mahal quartzite runs throughout – its creamy, veined surface catching the shifting harbour light in a way that feels almost alive. Warm oak timber introduces texture and warmth, its honey tones echoing the stone outside.
In the kitchen, fluted oak joinery wraps a sculpted island in bookmatched stone, with Gaggenau appliances set flush into the cabinetry. Brushed brass hardware threads through as a considered accent — present, but never loud.
This is a home that knows exactly what it is.
