A Home Finally Made Theirs

Some homes are lived in for decades before they’re truly designed. This was one of them.

Our clients had been in their St Ives home since the 90s – a house they’d built their life around, raised a family in, and loved well. But with the kids grown and grandkids now coming to visit – the kitchen and three bathrooms still wore their original finishes so the time had finally come for change.

This wasn’t their first project with us – we knew how they lived, what they valued, and what kind of home they wanted to come home to. The brief was clear: something warm, considered, and updated to the 2020’s!

The kitchen became the heart of it. Crisp shaker cabinetry in soft white, the most incredible veined St Tropez marble benchtops, zellige splashback tiles, and brushed brass throughout – it’s a space that functions beautifully for two and still feels ready for a full table when the family comes back together. A wine fridge tucked into the island, linen curtains softening the dining beyond, an alabaster pendant casting warmth overhead. It feels effortless, because it was designed that way.

The bathrooms follow the same quiet logic. Travertine look tiles run floor to ceiling in soft blush and warm sand tones, paired consistently with brushed brass fixtures and floating vanities in pale cabinetry. Each space has its own moment – a powder room with a dramatic cloud wallpaper and carved marble vanity that stops people in their tracks; a main bathroom with zellige detailing and custom oak mirror cabinet; an ensuite shower that feels more like a retreat.

Thirty years in the making. Worth every one of them.
